$350,000 Available for LGBT Scholarships

$350,000! 50 different scholarships! 1 application!

Pride Foundation and the GSBA are thrilled to announce that together we will be giving $350,000 in scholarships to LGBTQ and straight ally students in 2009! Applications are now available and you only need to submit one for over fifty different types of scholarships. The scholarships focus on building leadership and promoting diversity in the LGBTQ, and straight-ally community and since 1991, the two organizations have granted $2.2 million to 1,050 students.

Applications must be postmarked by January 23, 2009 and are available at PrideFoundation.org or by calling 206-323-3318 or 800-735-7287. Scholarships support college, creative or vocational training, and are open to residents of Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington who demonstrate commitment to human and civil rights for all people. LGBTQ and straight-ally (straight and supportive of LGBT issues) students, children of LGBT families, and students of color are particularly encouraged to apply.

If you have any questions about the scholarship program or are interested in volunteering, please contact Anthony Papini, Scholarship Program Director, at anthony@pridefoundation.org.
